It’s hardly breaking news to note that the world is changing. So, too, is the way we discover what’s going on in our own backyard. One of the big trends is a move away from broad-based print and broadcast media to niche digital products that target specific audiences.
This is a newsletter and website designed for people in the prime of life (let’s say Gen X plus Generation Jones and the younger Boomers) who live in or around Brisbane and have an interest in culture, heritage, travel, drinking and dining. Each week (with the occasional extra missive) the Mister Brisbane newsletter will be taking you from low dives to high drama; cheap eats to premium performances; revealing exhibitions to exclusive experiences. Throw in some snippets about local celebs and the media, plus a good dollop of nostalgia, and that’s what you get.
It’ll be a story told mainly in short instalments, with occasional additional long-form features and, thanks to social media, the opportunity for audience participation. If you’d like to know a little more before you commit — including who’s behind all this — go to the About page. If it sounds like your kind of thing, sign up below and you’ll be added to the mailing list.
PS: don’t forget to tell your friends!
