Indeed. Imagine being a Channel 9 News viewer in the Northern Territory, where they now get the Queensland bulletin. They almost never get a local story and have to put up with a lot of irrelevant parochial nonsense (especially during rugby league State of Origin time, when as I understand it, AFL is the big game there).
